Re: Top 5 Most Aggressive Piranha?
I have only owned 3-4 different species so its hard to say.
But with that said I haven't had any aggressive ones as far as piranhas.
My Black Diamond Rhom will hold its ground and doesn't really get spooked, but its not aggressive.
Now a hungry one is a different story.
I think Cichlids are alot more aggressive.
But, just my 2 cents to each there own.

Re: Top 5 Most Aggressive Piranha?
I have owned pretty much a who's who of "aggressive" piranha even though I feel that term is a misconception as I feel piranha as a species are not aggressive at all. But if you want just the fish and not conditions of the fish then in my experience it would have to be these and in order from most to least!
1. S. Manueli
2. S. Elongatus
3. S. Rhombeus
4. P. Caribe
5. P. Piraya
Can't say about Gibbus as a lot of fish labeled as such have no positive identification with confirmation of collection point. Some labeled Gibbus are not aggressive at all and very timid and some are very aggressive. The two true Gibbus that I know for sure go fifty fifty with one being very skittish and the other being a downright monster. Reasoning for piraya being on there it is of my opinion that even though a Pygo this species should be housed solo in a tank as they are not too aggressive when juvenile but once maturity is gained they become downright nasty. Those are all just my opinions and take them as such!!

Re: Top 5 Most Aggressive Piranha?
Although I am far from being an experienced owener of P's like most of you.I have come to a conclusion(not that I was conducting an experienment to begin with) Piranah are NOT aggressive as humanity makes them out to be.Yes if VERY hungry. But what living thing isn't if starved.I continue to love my fishies and they are one of the most colorful beautiful fresh water fish I have come across yet. Also being a cichlid owner..I have to agree with burgh..cichlids are (my experience) far more aggressive.
