Chitol Kalia (Clown Knife fish Curry) Recipe
Ingredients
Chitoler peti : 400 gms
Poppy seeds : 50 gms
Onions : 2 pcs
Cumin powder : 1 teaspoon
Red chilli powder : 1 teaspoon
Salt & turmeric powder : As per requirement
Ghee : 1 teaspoon
Garam masaa powder : 2 teaspoons
Mustard oil : 80 gms
Method
Cut the fish in to pieces as per your requirement.
Wash and marinate with salt and turmeric powder.
Chop the onions. Grind poppy-seeds.
Keep a frying pan on the oven and add half of the oil in it Fry the fish in it well.Keep the fried fish aside.
Add the rest of the oil in the pan. As the oil is ready to fry add the chopped onions.
Keep stirring. As the onions are fried add grinded poppy seeds, turmeric powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder to the oil and singe.
As the spices are singed add 2 cups of water and salt.
As it starts to boil add the pieces of fish. Stir it with a spud
As the fish gets cooked and
broth become thick, get the frying pan down from the oven.
Add ghee and garam masala and stir it. Now keep it in another container with a cover.
Serve hot with rice or Paratha.
