How many red bellies or caribe could I put in a 50 gallon tank? I have 2 red bellies in there now but since there are only 2 they are very shy and skittish. They will not eat when anyone is near by. I would like to get enough so that they won't be so shy. I may go with a elongatus if i can not put enough reds to make it worth while. Which option should i go with 1 elongatus or multiple reds/caribe? Thanks.

Re: 50 gallon tank
Welcome to APU!! What are the measurements of your tank? For a 55g(12x48),
3 would do well. Rbp are generally shy/skittish,..there are some ways to
make them better but when compared to Caribe,..go with the Caribe! If you're
going to get them small, go with 6,..weaker ones will get picked off,...my
personal choice of the 3 picks is Caribe,..

Re: 50 gallon tank
I have heard that caribe are less skittish but are they less skittish even in small groups? The elongatus is not supposed to be skittish at all and very aggressive.

Re: 50 gallon tank
In comparison to rbp i think they will be more active even in a group of 3-5.
As with any piranha, it's luck of the draw,..a 50-55gal would (in my opinion)
be the smallest tank to keep any serra in,..Yeah man,..grab up an Elong,..and
post some pics:)
