My barracuda seen it in the pet store they didn't know what it was but I had to have it. Never seen one like it since. I looked on the net for months then found it. Said it was a barracuda also known as a rocket gar. I call him Chopper he is awesome to watch eat. He will get about 4 inches. Wish it was a closer pic for ya.

note the prominent black dot on it's tail, in fact
all fw cudas have this,..red/yellow tail Falcatus

I can see the Gonopodium making it male,..I have an
i.d narrowed down, however with your permission to use
your pic i can get a better i.d
Here is a link w/ pics and info on all gars,.

Yep..your right ..it's not a Cuda..i'm Pretty sure it's a Killi Fish(there are so many Variations)..i had a few about 2 years ago that were quite the jumpers..the reason why i lost them.
Here's a couple images of different species!

re mystery fish lol
Metal, I looked at Killi.net looked at all the 350 or so varations and none of them a-z and in between look anything like my fish. Don't think it's a killi's. Not one of them even has his beek with. (little teeth inside) He's not a jumper he lunges at food but hat's it. The tank he is in is not childproof. I'm gonna try my best to get a good camera today, and get a good pic. He's pretty much a top swimmer. Moves slowly. Except when feeding time. oh and it also sometimes opens it mouth(beek) bigger than its body. (if that helps)

Re: pic of my barracuda!!
I still have Chopper, my killi's fish. He had a long bout with mouth fungus and I was really worried about him. He is in a 55 gallon community tank. He is doing really good now. Thanks for all the help and your concerns. Chopper is my favorite. He's the only one that I've named. I just love the way he eats.

Do you have a video of him eating? that would be really neat to watch!
