Well, Me and a friend have been collecting various tanks and setting them up for a while now. We are going to dedicate a couple to native fish. We have 2 50 gallon tanks that are gonna be native i think. I know we are limiting ourselves with these tanks, but we dont have any larger tanks yet. So we are going to do Sunfish/pumpkinseeds/whatever they are called in your area. They are basically small panfish, not sure on there max size, largest i've caught is 5". We were thinking of getting some blue gills also, but I have seen them in the wild at 8+ inches, so they may be a bit large for a 50 gallon. We want to do a largemouth and smallmouth bass tank, so we are saving for a LARGE tank for that. I just got a hook up at a local fish store, so i may get the tank that way. I am trading him my plumbing stuff/service, for fish stuff.
So as of now we are gonna get one 50gal going with small panfish. Anyone have any idea of water temp? I'm thinking room temp is fine since they are used to MI weather anyway. So 65ish is wat im thinking. Any input would be awesome.
