Post by TheBigEasy Sun 03 May 2009, 20:39

So, me and a buddy have been busy for the past couple months setting up fish tanks. We have 1 at his house, 3 at my house, and 4 at our shop(my dads plumbing shop). We have been buying everything from Craigslist for very cheap as we are both broke, lol, and this fish hobby is not helping that cause. Anyway. We have been grwoing our fish stock lately. here it is as of today.

    Cichlids:
    1 male convict
    1 female convict
    1 male red peacock
    1 female red peacock
    1 jack dempsey
    1 texas blue
    1 Red Oscar

    Tetras/Barbs:
    10 Black neons
    10 glo tetras
    10 Tiger Barbs

    Catfish/Pleco's/bottomfeeders:
    1 4-Line Pictus
    2 albino cory's
    2 green cory's
    1 armored pleco
    1 crawfish
    1 red lobster
    1 blue lobster

    Piranha's:
    1 4" Red Belly
    4 Baby Red Belly's

    Knife Fish:
    2 Ghost Knife Fish

    Gars:
    1 Gar

    Native Fish:
    1 White Crappie

I believe that it. I will keep updating as we continue to get more tanks cycled and ready for fish.

added an oscar to the list that i picked up this morning. He is about 7" and they only wanted $10 for him, so I picked him up. He is now in a 75gal tank. We are currently trying to save up for a 6 foot by 2 footer for our larger fish, or even an 8x2. I am kinda worried about the oscar though, it was a new person I guess bagging it and they had a very hard time and stressed him out big time. I hope he makes it. I was very close to asking if i could bag him myself. Then after it was bagged they say to me, if he dies within 14 days bring him back for a refund, lol. Great, he better not die.

oh, and the bluegills and sunfish all died overnight. I am thinking it was due to hook damage, panfish swallow them weird, not like the crappie which hooks in the mouth lining like a bass. The crappie is doing good though.

I know what you mean about lps and there catching and bagging. I'll tell them your gonna give them a heart attack. I've bagged my fish plenty of times cause of the same reason.

Very nice collection there. They got some good deals on ebay right now on chiclids. Shipping is reasonable as well.
