Hi everyone I was invited on this forum by metal maniac.
I wanted to get some more perspective on what I'm thinking of doing with my piraya.
I've had it for about 3 weeks now and it's eating market prawn stuffed with pellets. However, it mostly spends its time in hiding. I'm wanting it to come out more or be less skittish. I'm thinking of buying a red belly that it used to cohab with before I purchased it. My thinking is that since they cohabitated before they would be okay together. I'd hate to see them kill each other. Yet, I've seen video and heard of reds and pirayas cohabitating. My piraya is about 5" and the red is about 4."
They would be in a forty breeder and eventually would be moved to a 120g.
Should I lean on the side of caution and just keep the piraya solo while at the same time be patient and let it settle in more.
or
Should I get the red belly? (I've got it on hold at the LFS)
