    Could you guys ID him please common snake? or is it a red fin, orwhatever they're called just got this guy in my tank he looks so damn sweeet red on his tail fin and tiny on his top fin. He has some nice dark line down his side.

    Well I pressed for the smallest guy he had in stock. This guy is maybe 2.5-3 inches in overall length. I fed him some bloodworms today he was a little hesitant but ate them with me sitting there eye to eye to him basically.

    nice baby you have there, not sure which species it is,young snakeheads are often very differently coloured from the adults,doesnt look like a red line though,the head shape is different.
    lets see what he turns into,these things grow very fast

    Awesome man, ill keep feeding him. Hpefully he grows a couple inches over the next couple months.

    hris how often do you feed your guys?

    Does his head look kinda to big for his body ? I think he needs to bulk up. here is a video of the little guy he is quite active just will swim the glass and get blown down the tank by the powerhead.

    Hey pboost,

    In 1987 i was in my LFS and he got in a mix of various fish...i had not heard of Channa back then but the owned was my Piranha Mentaur and he said i must take 3 and put them in the biggest setup i could afford..he said i would not be disapointed.

    ..well...i setup quick a 110 gal at the time and i took home these 3 what ended up being Reds..i started too like these guys as much as Piranha

    Well,i tell ya...these guys ate Soooooooooo much and no joke all 3 were 1.5 feet within 4 months and were absolute DEMONS!!!..ate ANYTHING!!!

    Eventually i new someone at the Metro Toronto Zoo that was able too take them off my hands as i was moving too Jamaica at the time Picture id. 63052 ...they were there for a very long time with others in a mote under the Orangatang exibit...the last time i saw them they were as big as me!!!!

    Just thought i would add that

    The size tank you have that one guy will be happy for a very,very long time!

    Can hardly wait till he becomes a MONSTER!!!

    Hell yeah I can't hardly wait for this guy to get huge glad i got him so small i keep hearing they grow very quick.

    My guy is growing good and eating great ill take some more pictures today of him. He's about double what he was when i got him.

    your sh looks ok, i used to feed mine daily with one big meal.when less than 3 inches,twice daily,otherwise they try to swallow tankmates almost their size lol

    Quick little update he's doing just fine hasn't touched a convict yet oh well when he gets bigger hopefully he uses them as a food. lol Grown good and is eating good here he is.
