Yu could raise one in a 220 for awhile but it will out grow it and you'll have a hard time finding a home for it. They are like carp and catfish, eat almost anything and grow liek crazy. Even then they grow damn quick, they are hardy and will eat anything they can fit in its mouth. Even then it will still try to eat what it can't fit in. They dig the sand like many cichlids and are a very bold fish.
I would maybe consider crushed coral for a substrate sand might not be a good idea.
